glacier a large, thick, sheet of ice
sand dune a sand hill that is made and shaped by wind
delta an area of new land at the mouth of the river
sinkhole a large hole formed when the roof of a cave collapses
plates blocks of crust and upper mantle rock that fit together like puzzle pieces
earthquake a movement of the ground caused by a sudden release of energy in Earth's crust
epicenter the point on Earth's surface directly above the focus
fault a break in Earth's crust
magma melted, or molten rock beneath Earth's surface
lava melted, or molten rock that reaches Earth's surface
volcano a mountain made of lava, ash, or other materials from eruptions that occur at an opening in Earth's crust
