Cell membrane Selectively controls entry in and out of the cell
Cell wall Thick, rigid, layer that surrounds the plant cell
Cytoplasm Fluid that fills the cell
Chloroplasts Food producer for plant cell, converts energy from the sun into sugar(glucose)
Golgi apparatus Aids in modification, packaging, and distribution of proteins of the cell
Mitochondria Produces energy to fuel the cells activities
Microtubules Found in cytoplasm, carry out functions ranging from transport to structural support, conveyer belt
Nucleoplasm Fluid found in the nucleus
Nuclear membrane Membrane that surrounds the nucleus
Nucleolus Part of nucleus that makes the parts needed to build a ribosome
Ribosomes Small organelles composed of RNA rich cytoplasmic granules that are sites of protein synthesis
Rough endoplasmic reticulum Covered with ribosomes,transports materials through the cell and produces proteins
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum Transports materials, enzymes, produces and digests lipids (Fat), and membrane proteins
Vacuole Large fluid filled space inside the plant cell
Nucleus Holds genetic information (DNA) for the cell
Lysosomes Breaks down old or unneeded parts of the cell
