| Archipelago | A group of islands. |
| Bog | A spongy wet ground that is poorly drained in rich acid plant material. |
| Delta | The water depositing at the mouth of a river. |
| Fjord | A narrow inlet of sea between cliffs and steep slopes. |
| Flood Plain | A level land that is submerged by flood waters. |
| Glacier | A large body of ice that is slowly moving down a slope or valley spreading outward. |
| Island | Land surrounded by water. |
| Isthmus | A narrow strip of land connecting two larger land areas. |
| Peninsula | A portion of land nearly surrounded by water connected to a larger body of land. |
| Plain | Level rolling land that is treeless. |
| Plateau | Land raised above level ground. |
| Rifts | a clear open space |
| Strait | a narrow space or passage. |
| Tributary | a stream feeding a larger stream or lake. |
