| Temperature Inversion | A phenomenon that results when a layer of warm air becomes trapped between two cooler layers and is prevented from escaping. |

| Air Pressure | A force that is the result of the weight of a column of air pushing down on an area. |
| Barometer | An instrument used to measure changes in air pressure. |
| Altitude | Elevation above sea level. |
| Pollutant | A harmful substance in the air,water, or soil. |
| Density | The measurement of how much mass of a substance is contained in a given volume. |
