goggles safety gear to protect your eyes
compound light microscope a tool to see microscopic things that cannot be seen with the naked eye
dissecting pan a pan used to place specimen that you are dissecting
dissecting kit a set of tools including a scissors, probe,scalpel and ruler
microscope slide and coverslip a glass or plastic slide in a rectangular shape used to place samples to be viewed under the microscope
graduated cylinder a slim tall glass or plastic tool for measuring liquid
plastic dropper a tool used to add drops of liquid
ruler a tool for measuring in cm (metric unit)
triple beam balance a tool for measuring mass in g (metric unit)
beaker a wide round top for measuring liquid or samples
petri dish a circular dish used to grow cultures of bacteria
funnel a tool used for pouring items without spilling
eye wash & emergency shower Emergency equipment in the classroom for accidental chemical spills, burns or chemicals in the eyes.
fire blanket a special blanket to smother and contain a fire
fire extinguisher A safety tool to contain a fire. Fire extinguishers are in visible places around the school and are used in emergencies only. Remember the rule for fires: Stop, Drop & Roll.
