spastic cerebral palsy cerebral cortex- one or both side
dyskinetic/ athetoid basal ganglia- purposeless, involuntary movement (temors and drooling)
ataxic cerebellum- coordination & equilibrium (unstable, wide gait)
mixed spastic & athetosis
diplegia lower extremeties involved (upper --> normal)
quadriplegia all extremeties equally involved (can't use crutches)
unilateral hemiplegia one side; upper > lower (like a stroke)

muscular dystrophy inherited x linked disorder
gowers sign can't pop up from squat (w/ Duchenne's)

s/s of shunt problems most likely in 1st year; I ICP, red line along tube, fever (must always be evaluated)
