Science Method

hypothesis If then statement, educated guess, proposed solution
independent variable the variable that I change
dependent variable the variable that I measure, it changes as a result of the independent variable
control the group that is not changed or altered. used to compare the results.
constant the things in an experiment that are kept the same. So that the results are not biased.
qualitative observations observations made by using the 5 senses.
quantitative observations observations made by using measuring instruments.
bias something that can affect how the results of an experiment are viewed.
scientific law scientific statement that is well tested
data evidence gathered through observations
observation to use your senses to gather information
inference quick explanation of what you observed, what you think happened.
