Vocabulary for the Zoom Machines project

Acceleration The rate of change of velocity.
Momentum The quantity of the motion of a body.
Potential Energy The energy a body has based on its position or condition.
Kinetic Energy Energy a body has because of its motion.
Force A push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object.
Mass The amount of matter a body has.
Gravity The force of attraction between two bodies.
Velocity The speed in a certain direction.
Speed Distance covered divided by time, how fast it is going.
Distance The space between two points.
Inertia The tendency of an object to resist a change in motion.
Work The force and the distance covered by the force exerted on an object.
Weight It is the force that gravity exerts on an object.

Friction A force that resists the movement of two bodies.
