Biology bio-life ology-study of study of living things
Organism the scientific word for living thing Ex: Plant
Habitat an environment that provides a specific organism needs to live, grow, and reproduce Ex:Forest
Biotic Factors the parts of a habitat that are living, or once living, and interact with an organism Ex Elephant
Abiotic Factors are the nonliving parts of an organism's habitat Ex: Sun
Species a group of organisms that can mate with each other and produce offspring Ex: Flamingos
Population all of the members of one species living in a particular area are reffered to as a population Ex: Birds in a Forests
Community all of the different populations that live together in an area Ex: Alligator Money
Ecosystems the community of organisms that live in a particular area, along with their nonliving environment Ex:desserts
Ecology the study of how organisms interact with each other and with their environment Ex:a group of penguins
Birth rate the number of births per 1,000 individuals for a certain period Ex: Born into population increase
Death rate the number of deaths per 1,000 individuals for a certain period Ex: Born into population decrease
Immigration movement of individuals into a populations area Ex: Entalope stays in one area
Emigration movement of individuals out of a populations area Ex: deer heard wonders off
Population density the number of individuals in an area of a specific size Ex: 2 deer per square meter
Imiting factor the largest population that a particular environment can support Ex: weather conditions, space, food
Carrying capacity the largest population that a particular environment can support Ex: IDK
