what is algae? Algae supplies most of the oxygen for both the atmosphere and the oceans through photosynthesis

what are tides? Tides are the periodic rise and fall of the water level caused by the moon and sun.
what is the single largest reservoir of heat on the earth? the ocean
what is the continental shelf? Continental shelf is the relatively flat area that extends from the shoreline to the continental slope.
what is the abyssal plain? Abyssal plain is the relatively flat seafloor from the continental rise to the mid- ocean ridge. Seamounts are underwater volcanoes.
what is the continental slope? The continental slope is the steeply sloping area that is between the continental shelf and the rise.
