What are the four major that affects the climate? Latitude, Elevation, Proximity to oceans and position relative to mountains
What are the three major climatic zones? Tropial (0 to 30 degrees), Temerate (30 to 60 degrees), & Polar (60 to 90 degrees)
The Earth's surface is heated by what more efficiently than the atmosphere? Sun
How are winds created? Created by uneven heating of the Earth's surface and modified by the Coriolis Effect which is caused by the Earth's rotation
What is atmosphere warmed by? Convection
What kind of curent is formed during this process? Convection Current
What is a hurricane? Tropical Cyclone
What is a tornado? Narrow, Violent, Funnel- Shaped coulumn of spiral winds that extend downward from a cloud toward the earth
How can weather be predicted? By using a cloud type
What are cirrus clouds? Thin, wispy, veiled clouds, mean that a front is approaching which will meana change in temprature
