Whats the difference between a monosccharide and a polysaccharide? a polysaccharide is a simple sugar; a monosaccharide is complex sugars
What are examples of carbohydrates? glucose, glycogen, starch, cellulose.
What are lipids(commonly called fats and oils)made of? carbon, hydrogen and oxygen(many hydrogen bonds and few oxygen carbon bonds)
What are the subunits for lipids? gycerol & fatty acids
How are lipids useful? used for energy storage,insulation and protective coatings.
What are proteins contain of? carbon, hydrogen,oxygen and nitrogen
What are some examples of proteins? insulin-regulates blood sugar enzymzes- control rates of chemical reactions hemoglobin- transports oxygen with red bloods cells
The basic building blocks for proteins are... amino acids
What are proteins used for? building muscle tissue and providing immunity
Enzymes are... a type of protein that is used to speed up chemical reactions
Lock and key The shape determines the substrate the enzyme will act upon
Nucleic acids are.. complex molecule that stores and transmits cellular information

What's the difference between acids and bases? acids produce hydrogen ions and have a ph below 7 bases produce hydroxide ions and have a ph above 7
