QuestionAnswer
What rides on the jet stream? Low pressure systems ride on the jet stream.
Where is the jet stream found? It is found at the top of the troposphere or at the bottom of the stratosphere.
How are winds modified? They are modified by the Coriolis Effect which is the caused by the Earth's rotation.
How are winds created? They are created by the unevenheating of the Earth's surface.
What is the atmosphere warmed by? Convection
How does Earths control the amount of energy reaching the surface. By the angle of sunlight striking surface and varies of seasons.
How is Earth's surface heated? By the sun.
What are the three major climatic zones? Tropical, temperature, and polar.
What affect's climate? Latitude, elevation, proximity to oceans, and position relative to mountains.
What causes weather? The transfer of energy between the Earth's surface and atmosphere.
