What causes weather? The transfer of energy(heat) between the Earth's surface and atmosphere
What is weather? The description of the current state of the atmosphere or day to day changes in atmospheric conditions
What factors affect climate? Latitude, Elevation, Proximity to oceans and Position relative to mountains
Where do an area have to be to receive sunlight at the highest angle and have more energy? Near the equator
What is a jet stream? A fast moving river of wind that is found at the top of the atmosphere or at the bottom of the stratosphere
What is the atmosphere warmed by? Convection and conduction
What are winds created by? The Coriolis Effect
Name three tools used to measure weather. Barometers, Thermometers and Psychrometers
What is a tornado? A tropical cyclone with sustained winds above 120 kilometers per hour
Air mass that comes from Canada that are cold and dry are called the ___ ___. Continental Polar
