What is greenhouse effect? The trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation
What reflects better, snow and ice or land and ocean water? Snow and ice
How can volcanoes lower the temperature? ash from eruptions blocks the sun's rays.
Plants and oceans are known as "carbon sinks." What are "carbon sinks?" Carbon sinks are things that naturally reduce the amount of carbon dioxide.
How is climate controlled and changed? Climate can be controlled and changed by multiple factors like reflectivity of the surface, the amount and types of gases that are in the atmosphere, volcanic eruptions, and meteor impacts.
True or False, the atmosphere of the Earth has has been the same over all geologic time. False
What can meteor impacts place large amounts of in the atmosphere? Dust, they can also set off forest fires and increase volcanic activity.
