What is the Big Bang Theory? The most widely accepted theory for how the universe was formed.
What is the Solar Nebular Theory? The most widely accepted theory for how the solar system and stars were formed.
All stars contain solar nebula that collapses, what is solar nebula? Solar Nebula is huge, vast clouds of ice, gas and dust.
What controls how a star evolves, its lifespan, and it ultimate fate? Mass, or size.
What is the order of the less massive stars? What is the order of the more massive stars? Less massive: Nebula, protostar, main sequence star, white dwarf, black dwarf. More massive: Nebula, protostar, main sequence star, supernova, neutron star.
What does the Hertzsprung-Russel diagram show? It shows the relationship between the absolute magnitude, or brightness, in relation to a stars surface temperature.
Which puts out more energy: blue giant stars or the sun? Blue giant stars.
How much energy does a blue giant star put out? 10,000 times more than the sun.
What is a galaxy? Collections of billions of stars.
What is a black hole? The end of the life cycle for some supergiant stars.
What is a light-year? When is this unit most commonly used? The distance light travels in one year. This unit is most commonly used in astronomy.
