Weather

Tranfer of energy (heat) between the Earth's surface and atmosphere creates weather. True or False True
What does Weather describe? The current state of the atmosphere or day to day changes in atmospheric conditions
What does climate describe? The typical (average) weather patterns of certain location over a period of many years.
What are the major factors that affect climte? Latitude, elevation, proximity to oceans and positions relative to mountains.
How is wind created ? By uneven heating of the Earth's surface and modified (deflected) by the Cirolis Effect which is caused by the Earth's rotation.
What is a jet stream ? fast moving river of wind that is found at the top of the troposphere or at the bottom of the stratosphere.
What is a tornado ? A narrow, violent, funnel-shaped colum of spiral winds that extend downward
What is a hurricane ? Is a tropical cyclone (rotates counterclockwise and is an intense low pressure system) with sustained winds above 120 kilometers per hour (75 mph) or greater.
Convection in the atmosphere is the major cause weathering. True or False true
