What is a meteoroid? Pieces left over from a comet.
Explain how a meteoroid becomes a meteor. When a meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere and begins to burn.
Does the tail of a comet point to or away from the sun? Why? Away because of the solar wind.
What is another name for an outer planet? What are they like? Jovian planet. They are large, gaseous, and have a low density.
Where is the asteroid belt? What does it separate? The asteroid belt is between Mars and Jupiter and it separates the jovian and terrestrial planets.
Which terrestrial planet has the biggest core compared to its size? What is its percentage? Mercury. 75%
Which terrestrial planet has a greenhouse effect? Venus.
What gives Mars a reddish color? High contents of iron in its soil.
What two elements are the most abundant on jovian planets' atmospheres? Helium and Hydrogen.
What gives Neptune and Uranus a bluish color? Methane in its atmosphere.
