What is a SOLSTICE? A solstice is when the sun is at its the northern most or southern most points.
What are comets made up of and what do they orbit? Comets orbit the sun and are made of frozen gases.
What is the order of the planets from the sun? Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,Neptune
What is the Impact Theory? The Impact Theory states the moon formed when a large object struck the Earth and was ejected out into space.
What is the sun made up of and what is fusion? The sun is made up of helium and hydrogen mostly, fusion is the combining of two hydrogen to make helium.
Do all planets have moons? No, Mercury and Venus do not.
How many days does it take the Earth the revolve around the sun and what is it called? It is called a revolution and it take 365 and 1/4 days, also known as one year.
Why is Pluto considered a dwarf planet? Pluto is considered a dwarf planet because it is smaller than the other planets and its orbital plane is different from other planets.
What is the big spot on Jupiter? The Big Red Spot is a huge storm.
What is the difference between a meteor, a meteorite, and a meteoroid? Meteors are leftover pieces from the tail of a comet that enters earth's atmosphere and burns up. Meteoroids are fragments from comet's tails that are floating in space, and Meteorites are Meteors that strike the Earth.
Why does Mars have a reddish tint in the soil? Because the soil of Mars has a high iron content.
What is an asteroid and where is the asteroid belt? Asteroids are broken pieces of planets and the Asteroid Belt is between Mars and Jupiter.
