What absorbs more heat than non-vegetated areas? Vegetation
What is the Earth's current atmosphere? 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% trace gases
How can the composition change? Human activity
What factors control and change climate? Relectivity of the surface, the amount and types of gases in the atmosphere, amount of cloud cover, volcanic eruptions, vegetation cover and meteor impacts
Mercury has no? Atmosphere therefore no greenhouse effect
Volcanic eruptions can decrease? Temperatures because of ash blocking sunlight directly or by ash increasing the amount of condensation nuclei in the atmosphere which facilitates the making of clouds which block sunlight
The Earth's atmosphere has changed over? Geologic time
Meteor impacts? Can place huge amounts of dust in the air and can set off forest fires and may also increase the amount of volcanic eruptions on Earth.
What is the greenhouse effect? Biologic activity affects the atmosphere ability to hold heat
What have reduced th amount of ozone in the upper atmosphere? Man made chemicals (CFC)
