What are tides? Tides are the periodic rise and fall of the water level caused by the moon and the sun
What has harmful effects on numbers of important food species? Over-fishing
What is the Abyssal plain? The relatively flat seafloor from the continental rise to the mid-ocean ridge
What is the Continental shelf? The relatively flat area that extends from the shoreline to the continental slope
What does Upwelling do? Brings cold nutrient rich water from the bottom to the surface and areas of high biological activity will develop
Decrease in plant populations will affect? All animals
What human activities within the water shed greatly affect the water quality? Agriculture, Human waste disposal, and Construction
