What is a Continental shelf? The relatively flat area that extends from the shoreline to the continental slope.
What is a continental slope? The steeply sloping area that is between the continental shelf and the rise.
What is a abyssal plain? The relatively flat seafloor from the continental rise to the mid- ocean ridge.
