How is weather created? It is created when the transfer of energy(heat) between the Earth's surface and atmosphere.
What is a jet stream? It is a fast moving river of wind that is found at the top of the troposphere or at the bottom of the stratosphere.
Does the wind move from high pressure to low pressure or from low pressure to high pressure? The wind moves from high pressures to low pressures.
Which is less dense warm air or cold air? Warm air is less dense than cold air.
What does the climate describe? Climate describes the typical or average weather patterns of certain locations over a period of many years.
How are global wind patterns developed? They are developed from uneven heating of the surface.
What instrument is used to measure the humidity? A psychrometer measure the humidity.
How can weather be predicted? Weather can be predicted using cloud types in the sky.
Which type of clouds are layered clouds that cover the whole sky and mean precipitation and cooler temperature? Stratus clouds
Does warm or cold temperatures cause thunderstorms, hail, tornadoes? Warm temperatures
What does high barometric pressure mean? It means that that air is sinking, so the weather will be fair and clear.
What is air mass? It is a parcel of air that takes on the qualities of the surface it forms over.
Where does the Maritime Tropical come from? It comes from the Gulf of Mexico or the South Atlantic.
What type of weather does the Continental Polar bring? It brings cold and dry weather from Canada.
What does barometers measure? They measure barometic pressure(weight of the atmosphere.
