What is a push? A force needed to close a refrigerator door
What is a compound machine? A compound machine is made up of a least 2 simple machines.
When you throw a ball, what three things does it have? Position, speed and motion
How do you describe the position of an object? You compare its position to the position of another object
How do you prove that an object is in motion? To prove it is in motion, you need to record its position at different times.
How does a lever work? A lever has an arm that turns on a fulcrum. It is used to raise or lower an object.
When will an object move? An object begins to move only when forces become unbalanced.
Name five simple machines. Lever, Pulley, Inclined Plane, Wheel and Axle, Wedge and Screw.
What force occurs when you are riding your bike? When you are riding your bike, friction occurs between the bicycle wheel and the road because the wheel and the road touch.
What is a compound machine? A compound machine is made up of a least 2 simple machines.
Name five simple machines. Lever, Pulley, Inclined Plane, Wheel and Axle, Wedge and Screw.
What is a machine? A tool used to change a force.
What is a simple machine? A machine that has few or no moving parts.
What is an example of work? An example is a man picking up a book.
How does a lever work? A lever has an arm that turns on a fulcrum. It is used to raise or lower an object.

What is a machine? A tool used to change a force.
What is a screw? A simple machine that is an inclined plane that winds around into a spiral.
what is an example of an inclined plane? An example is a ramp.
What is a wheel and axle? It is a simple machine with a wheel attached to a bar called an axle. Turning the wheel turns the axle.
What is a pulley? A simple machine that has a wheel and a rope or a cable. A pulley changes the direction of the force.
