Surface Water

This stack includes the water cycle and watersheds of Virginia.

What is surface water restored by? Hydrologic (water) cycle
What happens when water is evaporated? It rises into the atmosphere where it cools and condenses which forms clouds.
What are the main four parts of the water cycle? Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation and Runoff
What is precipitation? The cloud droplets
What are the four forms of precipitation? Rain, Snow, Sleet and Hail
What accumulates runoff? Rivers, lakes, streams and eventually, oceans
What is a watershed? All the land that is drained by a river system
