Stars and the Universe

QuestionAnswer
Which theory is the most widely accepted theory on how the solar system and the stars are formed? The Solar Nebular Theory.
What is a solar nebula? It is huge, vast clouds of ice, gas and dust.
What are the basic types of Galaxies? They are spiral, elliptical(football shaped), and irregular.
What are black holes? They are the end of the life cycle of some super giant stars.
What is the distance light travels in one year? It is the Light Year
What is singularity? It is when a star eventually collapses to the point of zero volume and infinite density.
What is the less massive stars order? Nebula, Protostar, Main sequence star(birth), white dwarf, black dwarf(death)
What does the Hertzsprung diagram show? It shows the relationship between absolute magnitude(brightness) in relation to their surface temperatures.
What type of star puts out about 10,000 times as much energy as the sun? Blue Giant stars
What is the more massive stars order? Nebula, protostar, main sequence(birth) supernova, neutron star(death)
