| Estivating | Burying themselves in the ground and sleeping through the dry season. |
| Tundra | A biome without tall trees that lies north of the artic circle. |
| Permafrost | Permenatly frosen soil. |
| Littoral Zone | The nutrient rich area. |
| Wetlands | Areas of land that are covered with water for at least part of the year. |
| Estuary | Ecosystem which freshwater from river mixes with salt water from the ocean. |
| Coral Reefs | Limestone islands in the sea that are built by coral animals called polyps. |
