Cuticle a waxy layer that covers the leaves of a plant and retains water.
Vascular Tissue is a system of tube like structures inside a plant that carries water, minerals, and food throughout a plant.
Zygote a fertilized egg
Nonvascular Plants lack a well developed system of of tubes for transporting water and other minerals for food. they are normally low growing due a lack of structure
Vascular Plants a plant with true vascular tissue.
Sporophyte the stage of a plants life where a plant produces spores that will later on become sperm cells.
Gameophyte the stage of a plants life where they produce sperm and egg cells.
Rhizoids anchor moss and absorb water and nutrients from the soil.
Fronds are the leaves of a fern that are divided into smaller parts that look like small leaves.
Phloem is the vascular tissues that food moves through
Xylem is the vascular tissue that minerals and water flow through.
Pollen are tiny structures that will later become sperm cells.
Seed is a young plant inside a protective covering containing food.
Embryo is a plant that produces from a fertilized egg.
Cotyledons are the seed leaves in an embryo.
Germination is when the plant begins to grow again and pushes out of the seed.

Angiosperm an angiosperm is a flowering plant that produces seeds inside a protective covering.

Petal are the colorful leaf like parts of the plant.
Stamen are the male part of the plant that reproduce.
Pistile are the female part of a plant.
Ovary is a protective covering used to protect the seeds as they grow.
Fruit is a ripened ovary and other structures that enclose one or more seeds.
Monocots are angiosperms that only have one seed leaf.
