why do meteorologists need to have a standard to analyze and prepare weather forecasts? so everyone can understand the weather even if they speak a different language or are from a different country
what does a weather map show when forecasting weather? a snap shop of weather conditions over a large area
what is weather? a condition of the atmosphere at any given time or place
what is a weather forecast? a prediction of the weather conditions at some future time for a given region
what is the driving force behind all weather changes? the sun
how do dark textured land (soil) and light colored land absorb energy? there is more solar energy absorbed over dark textured land or soil
what is humidity? the amount of moisture found in the air at any one time and place
when do clouds form? when it is humid and the air pressure cools
what can happen if there are a lot of clouds in the sky? all types of precipitation and a decrease in temperature
what is the temperature like outside if there are a lot of clouds in the sky? there might be precipitation, cool
what kind of pressure is there when there are clear skies? high pressure
what kind of pressure is there when there are cloudy skies? low pressure
give 2 examples of historical events affected by weather the Hindenburg explosion, the Challenger explosion
line graphs are used to show... change over time
things to remember when creating a line graph... needs a title, labels on each axis that describes the information, intervals are equal
