Terms and Defenitions

TermDefinition
Malleability is what? Malleability is something that is bendable or can easily be shaped.
Heterogeneous is- Heterogeneous is a substance that looks diffrent throughout the whole mixture.
Physical change is- A change you can see that does not affect what the substance is made of/ a change you can see. (Bending a nail)
Chemical Change is- Chemical change is when the actual substance changes (rust on a nail)
Homogeneous is- Homogeneous is a substance that looks the same throughout.
Crystal Lattice is- The symmetrical three-dimensional arrangement of atoms inside a crystal.
Boiling point is- Boiling Point is the temperature in which something starts to boil.
Melting Point is- Melting point is the temperature in which a substance melts.
A Solute is- A solid that is dissolved in a mixture.
A Solvent is- The liquid in which something is dissolved in.
Erosion is- When dirt is picked up and moved from one place to another by wind, water, humans, etc.
Atoms are The basic unit of a chemical element
A meniscus is- The curved upper surface of a liquid in a tube.
Ductility is- the malleability of something that can be drawn into threads or wires or hammered into thin sheets.
Precipitate is- When two liquids form a solid.
