| What is the goal of evolutionary classification? | to group species into larger categories that reflect lines of evolutionary descent, rather than overall similarities and differences |
| What is a clade? | a group of species that includes a single comon ancestor |
| What is a cladogram? | a diagram showing how evolutionary lines branched off from common ancestors |
| What is derived character? | a trait that arose in the most recent ancestor of a particular linege and was passed along to its descendants. |
| What are the 6 Kingdoms of life? | Eubacteria, Archaebacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, Animalia |
