Archimedes' Priciple The rule that the bouyant force on a object is equal to the weight of the fluid the object displaces
Bernoulli's Principle The rule that a stream of fast-moving fluid exerts more pressure than the surronding fluid
Bouyant force The upward force exerted by a fluid on a submerged object
Centripetal Force A force that causes an object to move in a circle
effciency The percentage of work that is converted to output work
Inertia The tendencey of an object to resist in any change of it's motion
Mechanical Advantage The number of times a machine increases force exerted on it
net force The overall force of an object when all the individual forces acting on it are added together
newton A unit of measurethat equals the force required to accelertae one kilogram of mass at one meter per second
pascal A unit of measure equal to one unit per square measure
Pascal's Priciple The rule that when a force is applied to a confined fluid, the increase in pressure is transmitted equally throughout the fluid
rolling friction Friction that occurs when an object rolls over a surface
sliding friction Friction that occurs when one solid surface slides over another
terminal velocity The greatest velocity a falling object can achive
velocity Speed in a given direction
wedge A simple machine that is an inclined plane that moves
weight The force of gravity on an object a the surface of a planet
work Force excerted on an object forcing it to move
