Immune System

TermDefinition
Monocytes Large white blood cells
Macrophage Type of white blood cell that eats bacteria as part of the immune response to infection
Neutrophil Type of white blood cell that destroys many kinds of invading bacteria and other types of attackers that carry markers showing whether they are friends or foes
Lymphocytes One of the main types of immune cells and are divided into B and T cells
Mast cells Resident cell of several types of tissues and play an important protective role in wound healing and defense against pathogens
