Core Muscle Fitness -Core muscles: abdomen, pelvic floor, sides of the trunk, back, buttocks, hip & pelvis -29 muscles -attached to ribs, hips, spinal column & bones in trunk -stabilizes mid section

Risk factors 1. Over age 34, 2. degenerative disease 3. Family/personal history 4. overweight 5. low job satisfaction 6. low Socioeconomic status 7. smoking
Lift Correctly -bend hip & knees - feet shoulder width apart -dont twist -stand with leg not lift with back
Treatment -over he counter, prescriptions meds, exercise, PT, massage, acupuncture, education, surgery
