| What is a P Wave? | a pressure wave or primary wave, always the first wave to be detected, causes rock to move in a back and forth motion. |
| What can a P Wave travel through? | solids liquids or gases |
| What is an S Wave | seismic wave that moves rock in a side to side direction, secondary or shear wave slower than P Waves. |
| What can't S Waves move through. | Cannot travel through complete liquids. |
| What wave is most destructive ? | L Waves because of their slow moving nature |
| What scale measures magnitude/ strength of an earthquake? | The Richter Scale |
