AFFIX usually a prefix or suffix that can be attached to a root to form a new word. un+happy = unhappy, bear+able = bearable
PREFIX beginning part of a word that modifies or changes the meaning of a word. anti; un; pre; re; sub
SUFFIX end part of a word that modifies or changes the meaning of a word. est; er; less; able; ly
AUTO root meaning self automatic, autopsy, autism; autobiography; automobile; autograph
AMBUL root meaning walk, move around ambulance; amble; preamble; ramble; ambulatory
AUD/AUDI root meaning hearing; listening audio; auditorium; audition; audience; audible; auditory; inaudible
BIO root meaning life biology; biography; autobiography; biosphere; biodegradable
CYCL root meaning circle bicycle; motorcycle; recycle; cyclone; tricycle; unicycle
