What is the circulatory system? a MUSCLE that pumps blood through blood vessels
What are the organs of the circulatory system? (5) heart, arteries, capillaries, veins, blood
What is the function of the circulatory system? to transport oxygen and nutrients to cells
What is the function of the respiratory system? to take oxygen from the air (through the mouth) and rid the body of carbon dioxide
What are alveoli? tiny air sacks that take carbon dioxide out of our body
What do nephrons do? transport water and urea to the ureters and then to the bladder
What does the stomach do? stores food, breaks food down to liquid, then slowly emties the liquid mixture into the small intestine
What are villi? tiny tubes sticking out of the walls of the small intestine
What does the nervous system do? Connects your tissues and organs to your brain
Essay: What does blood do? transports oxygen and nutrients through the body and gets rid of waste
Essay: Compare the organelles in a cell to the organs in your body. they both have specific jobs to perform
Essay: How do your receptors keep you safe? they move your hand like when you touch a hot stove
Essay: Compare animal and plant cells. plant cells are surrounded by a rigid cell wall and they also have chloroplasts, which make food
