vocabulary on features of the sun

Core the innermost and hottest layer of the sun
radiation zone the layer that surrounds the core. energy travels as radiation
convection zone the layer that surrounds the radiation zone. circulates energy
The Photosphere sun's surface. only visible layer; coolest layer where sunspots are located
The Chromosphere this is inner layer of the sun's atmosphere. it surrounds the photosphere.
The Corona this is the outer layer of the sun's atmosphere.
Solar Flares a magnetic storm on the sun which appears to be very bright spot and a gaseous surface eruption.
Solar winds a continuous stream of electrically charges particles (ions) released into space
Solar Prominence an arch/loop of gas that erupts from the surface of the sun and held above the sun's surface by a strong magnetic field.
Coronal Mass Ejection huge, balloon-shaped plasma burst that come from the sun. release of mass from the corona
Age of the sun about 4.6 billion years old
White Dwarf the end for the life cycle of our star
