respiratory system is the body system that functions to get oxygen from the environment and remove carbon dioxide and other waste products from your body
cellular respiration uses oxygen in chemical reactions that release energy
vibrissae small hairs that filter out harmful particles and micro-organisms
trachea filters the air we breathe and branches into bronchi
cilia moves food toward the organism's mouth
lung are two large organs located on either side of your heart
bronchi two smaller tubes split into the trachea
alveoli smaller tubes connected to tiny sacs
diaphragm a dome-shaped muscle at the bottom of the lungs
larynx an oragn involved in protection of the trachea and sound production (voicebox)
pharynx splits into the trachea and the esophagus
