Seasons Changes in amount of direct light and indirect light the northern and southern hemispheres receive at different times of the year based on the Earth's tilt.
Direct light Also known as the daylight hours of an area, more direct light comes in the summer and less in the winter.
Indirect light its the opposite of Direct light hours, the nighttime hours of an area. More indirect hours in the winter than in the summer.
Earth's tilt Known as Obliquity, it is the angle between The Earth's equatorial plane and its orbital plane.
Orbit the pathway of an object around another larger object.
Revolution the motion of planets moving around the Sun.
Axis An imaginary line that passes through the Earth's North and South poles in which the Earth rotates around.
Rotation The turning of the Earth around it's axis.
Solstice Summer solstice is the longest day of the year, winter solstice is the shortest day of the year.
Equinox The two days each year (one in Spring and one in fall) in which Both the northern and the Southern hemispheres get the same amount of light.
Moon phases (from space) There is only one, from space, the moon is halfway dark and halfway bright, just like all the other objects in our solar system.
Moon phases (from Earth) The moon from Earth is analyzed as Gibbous, Crescent, waxing, and waning as it revolves around the Earth.
Gibbous In between full and half, when 51%-99% of the moon can be seen.
Crescent Between half and new moon, it is the phase when 49%-1% of the moon can be seen.
Waxing The time between new moon and full moon.
Waning The time in between full moon and new moon.
