What are seasons? short periods of climate change caused by changes in the amount of solar radiation an area receives
What is direct light? when something is tilted more towards the light it gets more direct light
What is indirect light? when something is tilted away from a light it receives indirect light
Describe Earth's tilt. The earth is tilted on its axis not straight up and down
Define orbit. It is a pathway that the earth follows
What is revolution? when the earth spins around the sun once every 365 days giving us a year
Define axis. it is an imaginary line that runs perpendicular to the equator
What is rotation? when the earth spins on its axis one time every 24 hrs creating night and day
What is solstice? the days when earth is most tilted toward the sun
What is a equinox? the days when earth is not tilted towards the sun
Describe moon phases(space view). the moon phases viewed from space
Describe moon phases(earth view) the moon phases viewed from earth
What is gibbous? having the observable illuminated part greater than a semicircle and less than a circle
What is a crescent? the curved shape of a waxing or waning moon
What is waxing? new moon to full moon; lit surface seen from earth grows larger
What is waning? full moon to new moon; lit surface seen from earth grows smaller
