| barrier islands | a small island along a coastline formed by the deposition of sand |

| surface current | currents that are mostly caused by the wind moving over the ocean |

| ocean trench | a deep valley that formes when an ocean plate moves below another plate |
| ocean basin | the areas located between the edge of the oceanic crust and a mid-ocean ridge |
