What is biodiversity? A variety of life in an ecosystem or environment.
What is a trophic level A section in an ecosystem separated by position in a food chain (primary consumer).
What is the amount of living matter in a habitat? Biomass
The turning of an organism is response to an external stimulant.(plant toward light) Tropism
What is a niche? The position of an organism in a community of plants and animals.
A place that is a natural environment for an organism is... A habitat
The development of plant and animal life in an area of no topsoil. Primary Succession
What is secondary succession? It is the ordinary and predictable change that takes place after a community of organisms has been removed but the soil has remained in tack.
What is nitrogen fixation? The process of capture and conversion of nitrogen into a form that is usable to plants.
What is it when some soil bacteria converting fixed nitrogen compounds back into nitrogen gas,which returns it to the atmosphere. Denitrification
What is the energy pyramid. A system that is represented by a pyramid using the 10% rule in the transfer of energy between trophic levels.(producers to 3rd level consumers)
What is biomagnification? It is the increase in concentration in a substance.
