Solar System & Beyon

Although Earth moves through space very rapidly, it doesn't seem to move at all.

QuestionAnswer
What is an Asteroid? a rocky metallic object tha orbits the sun but are too small to be considered planets.
What is an axis? It is the center around which something rotates.
What are Comets? They are large clumpsof ice, dust and frozen gases that travel around the sun in long eliptical orbits.
What is a Crater? It is a bowl shaped depression formed by the impact of a meteorite or bomb.
What is an Eclipse? It is one celestial body obscuring another.
What is an Equinox? Its either of two celestial points at which the celestial equator intersects the eclipse.
What ia a Lunar Eclipse? It is the earth interrupting light shining on the moon.
What is a Maria? It is a dark region of considerable extent onthe surface of the moon.
What is an Observatory? It is a building designed and equipped to observe astronomical phenomena.
What is an orbit? It is the path of an object as it revolves around another object in space.
What is a planet? it is a or many planets which orbits a star.
What is revolve? It is a process which casues movemetn by turnign over or in a circular motion of as if on an axis.
What is rotate? It is turning on or around the axis or a center.
What is a satellite? It is any cellestial body orbiting around a planet or star.
What is a Solar Eclipse? It is the Moon interrupting light from the sun.
What is a Solstice? It is either of the two times of the year when the sun is at its greatest distance frotneh celestial equator.
What is a Space Probe? It is a rocket propelled guided misslee that can escape the earth's atmosphere.
What is a telescope? a magnifier of images of distant objects
