The factors that are passed from parent to offspring. Genes.
The different forms of a gene. Alleles.
This principle states that some alleles are dominant and others are recessive. The Principle of Dominance.
Separation of alleles. Segregation.
Another word for sex cells. Gametes.
The likelihood that a paticular event will occur. Probability.
Organisms that have two identical alleles for a particular gene. Homozygous.
Organisms that have two different alleles for the same gene. Heterozygous.
Physical Traits. Phenotype.
Genetic Make-up. Genotype.
Used to predict the genotype and phenotype combination in genetic crosses. Punnett Squares.
This principle states that genes for different traits can segregate independently during the formation of gametes. Independent Assortment.
When one allele is not completely dominant over another. Incomplete Dominance.
When the phenotypes produced by both alleles are clearly expressed. Codominance.
A gene with more than two alleles. Multiple Alleles.
Traits controlled by two or more genes. Polygenic Traits.
