| Rotation | The spinning of the Earth on it's axis. |
| Revolution | Where an object goes all the way around a fixed point. example: earth goes all the way around the sun. |
| Seasons | Different climate changes caused by the Earth's tilt on it's axis. |
| Axial Tilt | The Earth's tilt on the imaginary axis at 23.5 degrees with it's axis always pointed at Polaris. |
| Lunar Eclipse | The moon has a shadow from the Earth and the Earth is in front of the sun. |
| Solar Eclipse | Where the moon is in the way of the sun's rays. The moon is black. |
| Neap Tide | Remember knee |
| Spring Tide | All sun moon and earth align |
| New Moon | The moon is all dark. This is the first stage of a moon's cycle. |
| Full Moon | Where nothing is covering the moon and it is completely lit up. |
| First Quarter | 2nd step of the moon's cycle showing half of the moon with the white on the right. |
| Third Quarter | The 7th step of the moon's cycle before a waning crescent showing half of the moon with the white on the left. |
| Waxing | Getting bigger. |
| Waning | Getting smaller |
| Waxing Crescent | The first step of the moon's cycle only showing a sliver of the moon. (white on right) |
| Waxing Gibbous | The moon is in the shape of a "hump" with the white on the right. More than a 1st quarter less than a full moon. |
| Waning Crescent | The last step of the moon's cycle before the new moon. |
| Waning Gibbous | The moon is in the shape of a "hump" with the white on the left. More than a 3rd quarter less than a full moon only showing a sliver of the moon. (white on left) |

| Polaris | The star that the Erath's axis is always pointed to. |
