Does light travel fast or slow? Fast
What speed does light travel at? Three hundred million meters per second (3 x 10 8 ms-1)
Why are shadows formed? They are formed because light travels in straight lines, and because light cannot pass through certain materials
What is a luminous object? Objects that make and give out their own light
Give an example of a luminous object A lighted candle
What is a non-luminous object? Objects that reflect light from another source
give an example of a non-luminous object A table
What is the disperstion of light? The seperating of light into different colours
What are the colours in the dispersion or spectrum of light? (ROGBIV) Red,orange,green,blue,indigo and violet
What is refraction of light? The bending of light as it passes from one medium to another
