What are the 3 main groups of organisms? Producers, Consumers, & Decomposers
What are producers? Organisms that use sunlight directly to make food are called producers.
What process do producers use to make food? photosynthesis
What are consumers? Organisms that eat other organisms are called consumers.
What is a herbivore? An organism that eats only plants.
What is a carnivore? An organism that eats other animals.
What is an omnivore? An organism that eats both plants and animals.
What is a scavenger? An omnivore that eat dead plants and animals.
What is a decomposer? An organism that gets energy by breaking down dead organisms.
What is a food chain? The pathway of energy transfer through various stages as a result of the feeding patterns of a series of organisms.
What is a food web? A diagram that shows the feeding relationships between organisms in an ecosystem
What is an energy pyramid? A triangular diagram that shows an ecosystem's loss of energy, which results as energy passes through the ecosystem's food chain.
