If you've ever been to the beach, it may have seemed to you that he water always

What is the abyssal plains? a very local area of the deep ocean floorm usually lying at the foot of the continental slope.
What is the Continental Slope? the relatively shallow seabed surrounding the abyssal zone.
What is the Continental Slope? the steep descent of the seabed fromthe continental shelf to the abyssal zone.
What are currents? cold or warm streams of seawater that flows in the oceans
Desalination the removal of salt
Headlands a natural elevation
hydrologist studies water and the water cycle
jetty a protective structure of stone and concrete
Salinity a measure of the amount of dissloved salts in a given amount of liquid.
scuba a device that lets divers breathe underwater.
Shore The land along the edge of a body of water
sonar a measuring instrument that sends out acoustic pulse in water and measures distances in terems of the time.
submersibles small underwater crafts used for deep sea searching
Tide the rise and fall of the sea level accoding to the gravitational pull of the moon
Tide Pool a pool of sea water found along a rocky shore
Water Pressure the weight of water pressing on an object that increases with depth
Wave a movement like that of an ocean wave
