Midterm Literary Terms

QuestionAnswer
Plot series of events
Genre type of literature (fiction, memoir, play etc.)
Protagonist Character around whom the story revolves, main character.
Antagonist Character who tries to stop the protagonist from achieving his/her goals.
Static Character Does not change by the end of the story (ex.Curley)
Dynamic Character Changes by the end of the story(Walter Younger)
Flat Character Has only one side to their personality(Linder)
Round Character Shows several sides of his/her personality(Mama)
Setting Where and when the story takes
Fiction Literature that is not factual (novels, short stories)
Nonfiction literature that is factual or true (memoir)
Point of View The vantagge oint from which the story is told.
